God's Plan
Your life is not an accident...God has a plan and a purpose for
you.
What is a Christian?
Someone who has repented of his sin and personally trusted in Jesus Christ as their Savior.
Why do we need a Savior?
- Because we have all sinned.
- Romans 3:23 "For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God."
- Isaiah 53:6 "All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned everyone to his own way."
- Because sin has a costly price tag.
- Romans 6:23 "For the wages of sin is death,"
- Hebrews 9:27 "And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the
judgment."
- Revelation 20:15 "Whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire."
Why do we need Jesus Christ as our Savior?
Although we deserve to pay the penalty for our sin, God has provided His Son, Jesus - who never sinned - to offer Himself
to suffer and die as a perfect sacrifice and substitute for our sin.
- Romans 5:8-9 "But God commendeth [demonstrated] His love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died
for us. Much more then, being now justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him [Christ]."
- 1 Peter 3:18 "For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just [Christ] for the unjust [man], that He might bring us to God."
- Isaiah 53:5-6 "But he [Jesus Christ] was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities . . .All we like sheep
have gone astray; we have turned everyone to his own way, and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all."
- 2 Corinthians 5:21 "For he hath made him [Jesus] to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him."
Aren't good works enough for God?
- Ephesians 2:8-9 "For by grace are ye saved through faith, and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God : not of works, lest any man should boast."
- Titus 3:5 "Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost."
How can we be saved?
We must place our faith and trust in Christ's finished work. Jesus died for our sins and rose from the dead on the third day conquering death. God will save us from sin's
penalty if we will trust in Jesus Christ as our own personal Savior.
- Romans 6:23 "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."
- John 1:12 "But as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name."
- John 3:16 "for God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth on Him should not perish, but have everlasting life."
- John 14:6 "I am the way, the truth, and the life, no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."
- 1 John 5:11 "And this is the record, that God hat given to us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath
not the Son of God hath not life."
Will you turn from your sin and accept God's provision for your salvation through Jesus Christ?
