This Sunday (11/1), celebrate with us as three of our junior girls get baptized! Hear their stories of who Jesus is to them and why they're going public with their faith.

So, what's baptism?

Great question, glad you asked! Let's start with what it's NOT. It's not something you do to get "saved." It's not literally washing people clean of their sins. It's not even just for a select few who are "extra spiritual."

Christians believe that the death of Jesus Christ on the cross pays for all of our sins and allows us to be forgiven by God. Therefore, salvation occurs only when a person places his or her faith in the death and resurrection of Christ as the sufficient payment for his or her sin.

If you have accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, the next step is baptism, which is an opportunity to publicly declare to others that you have accepted Christ and are now walking with Him. Because Jesus instructed His followers to be baptized (Matthew 28:19-20), baptism is an act of obedience. While it is not necessary for salvation, it demonstrates submission to God.

For Gianna, Angelina, and Grace, there's no denying what Jesus has done for them in their lives, and they'd like to share that with everyone they know!

"I realized how incapable I was when it comes to fixing my own sinfulness.... Because of Jesus, I won’t dwell in the shadow of... the past, but I can walk under the light with his mercy and forgiveness."

"I finally saw how sovereign God was, how much kindness He had shown, and how deeply He knew me. In that moment, I... accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. When I did that, I felt such peace."

"His love is a type of love that is secure, unwavering, and that I can build my foundation on because of how I can never earn it, it’s just given to me."

Curious to hear more? We'd love to invite you to join us this Sunday, November 1 at 12 pm @ Lucy Stone Auditorium to celebrate with us the amazing works of Jesus in their lives!
